Firefox vs. Internet Explorer
I am a little ashamed to admit that up until a couple of weeks ago I really didn’t know that there were viable internet browsers other than Internet Explorer. I thought that if you were using a PC and running Windows that IE was your best choice. I was very mistaken and I realised just how mistaken I was when I found Firefox.
Firefox is faster, more secure, and uses less resources than Internet Explorer. The fact that it uses less resources was huge for me. My PC had been crashing several times a day because of IE, resulting in a lot of downtime. I installed Firefox about three weeks ago and my computer has not crashed a single time since. Not even once. This fact alone pretty much elevates Firefox to magical status in my opinion.
The installation and transition to Firefox was painless since I was given the option to import my IE history and bookmarks. Creating a new browsing tab is not as obvious as it is in IE but ctrl+t will quickly open a new tab.
I’m sure I’m not using Firefox to its full potential and I’m sure it has its fair share of problems that I have not yet recognised. The only thing that matters to me right now is that after years of dealing with an unreliable computer I finally seem to have some stability when browsing. Give Firefox a try - you can always go back.
