Ask Max is an amalgamation of two established Canadian professionals, Deb Halmay and Cynthia Brisebois, and their extensive network of professional resources. Deb and Cynthia both earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University (aka the John Molson School of Business) - Deb with a specialization in Business Administration and Cynthia with a specialization in Marketing.
Deb worked for many years as a business analyst for a small private equity firm. Her primary tasks included sourcing, analysing, and managing real estate and business investments to ensure strong returns to investors. The position required strong communication skills, a structured due diligence process, research and analysis of different industries and real estate markets, and a lot of number crunching. Managing ongoing investments to ensure the desired results required people skills, flexibility, and perseverance.
Cynthia spent years managing the operations of a small business consulting firm, and was responsible for recruiting, training and supervising the team, and ensuring that assignments were executed according to budget and deadline. The position called upon her ability to simultaneously manage a lot of different projects, and to maintain effective communication with a wide variety of clients, including business owners and executives. Her strongest skill is helping entrepreneurs take their businesses to the next level by first looking at the "the big picture" and then breaking it down into a series of prioritized, manageable tasks and execution plans.
